Safety Development
Lacasse Safety Consulting considers the development aspect of their business to include any physical development of materials for clients to utilize in their workplace. Utilization of physical forms, procedures, and documented processes are required to ensure compliance with regulations.
Safety Program Development
A Health and Safety Program is an important aspect of the Health and Safety Management Systems. The program outlines how employers manage important elements such as:
- Occupational Health and Safety Policy
- Inspections
- Procedures
- Meetings
- Statistics
- Training
- Joint Health and Safety Committees
Lacasse Safety Consulting can develop and implement programs for clients that are effective in conveying a company’s commitment to safety. Although all programs require some specific elements, each client request is dealt with individually and a fully custom product is completed. We do not use fill in the blank templates for our program development as each industry and employer has unique safety elements that need to be considered and proactively addressed.
Procedural Development
Safe Work Procedures are step-by-step instructions guiding individuals through a task, to ensure it is performed safely. Ensuring involvement from front-line employees in development with these procedures will help with buy-in, compliance, and ensure hazards identification is complete.
Lacasse Safety Consulting has developed and implemented a diverse group of procedures including hazardous materials (biohazard/chemical hazards), tool use, fall protection plans among many others.
Contractor Management
Contractor safety works in two distinct ways. You may be the prime contractor requesting information from subcontractors, or you may be the sub-contractor supplying information to the prime contractor. In either situation a strong contractor management program will help ensure all parties understand the importance of health and safety and implement any required safety protocols.
Lacasse Safety Consulting has a unique perspective when working with clients on Contractor Management projects. Lead consultant Ryan Lacasse held a position that integrated safety and operational efficiencies for long term contractors in a municipal construction company. Lacasse Safety Consulting has many years’ experience in all aspects of contractor management, and has worked as a prime and subcontractor many times.
Risk Registry Development
Managing risk is what makes a business profitable. Risk can be associated with safety, finance, sales, or any other functional area of business. If risks are managed then the results are usually positive.
At Lacasse Safety Consulting we have created a tool to track business function, hazards, risk ranking, and controls all in one easy to use and attractive looking spreadsheet.
We believe utilizing this one step process is the first step in a successful safety management system as it provides a clear outline of a business’ strengths and areas in need of improvement.
If you would like to hear more about the tool or see how it functions please contact us for a free demo on it.
